Bhattacharya, Kulldorff, and Makary headed to Congress
The new Covid Oversight committee — featuring Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greeene (R-GA) — announced their first meeting with a panel of extremely familiar faces. Fresh off of calling for a national divorce on President’s Day, Greene’s committee will be hosting Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and Dr. Martin Kulldorff of the Great Barrington Declaration - who have shared civil war imagery in their revenge fantasy posting - as well as Gov. Glen Youngkin’s (R-VA) Covid advisor Dr. Marty Makary. Like his GBD author colleagues, Makary, the former Editor-in-Chief at MedPage Today and regular Fox News guest, has frequently been wrong about the pandemic.
All three physicians are part of the new dark money Norfolk Group, a spinoff of the Brownstone Institute.
The Brownstone is the “spiritual child” of the Koch-tied “die for the economy” GBD and has been a central publishing and organizing hub for disinformation doctors taking dark money - with a direct line to policy makers. GBD/Brownstone members took secret meetings with Trump and Jared Kushner.
Bhattacharya and Kulldorff are part of Ron DeSantis’s public health “integrity” committee with Dr. Tracy Beth Høeg alongside America’s Frontline Doctors founding member and current Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo.
Høeg (Urgency of Normal) is one of the names on the Koch-funded New Civil Liberties Alliance lawsuit against physician accountability law AB2098 and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) who, like DeSantis, has alleged presidential aspirations.
Her colleagues will be participating in what can only be described as congressional theater on Tuesday. The same dark money that funded these doctors’ lies is also attempting to shield them from accountability. Their money men like Charles Koch are a tax bracket above consequences and have been for decades.
His allies at the far-right Christo-fascist Council for National Policy, formed in the early 80’s as a response to Reaganism and Roe v. Wade, have been organizing a “leveraged buyout” of the Republican party for the past forty years with remarkable success. The same umbrella organization tied to the fall of Roe and the attempted overtaking of the American school system brought us America’s Frontline Doctors. The combination of anti-vaccine, anti-abortion, and extreme identity policies and the attempted whitewashing of school curriculums in DeSantis’s Florida is textbook CNP and has been called out appropriately as fascism by Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL). AFLDS members Dr. James Todaro and insurrectionist Dr. Simone Gold are also CNP members and Bhattacharya has spoken at one of their meetings. Disinformation doctors are aiding fascists.
They have been placed by political powers in strategic partnerships with GOP “leaders” and will do their service to their party on Tuesday by continuing to peddle propaganda. It’s smoke and mirrors but it will be weaponized against any Democrat opposition and those who uphold their Oath to first do no harm. This ongoing act from the far-right puts those who speak out against anti-science in danger of targeted hate and violence. That’s exactly what little kings Charles Koch and Ron DeSantis want - people to fight for them.
