Website for the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis restored
Rep. James Clyburn's Subcommittee's work exposed Trump's pandemic interference
As we have previously discussed, the website for the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis (HSSCC) chaired by Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) was down prior to the launching of the current House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic (HSSCP) chaired by Rep. Ben Wenstrup (R-OH).
We are happy to report that the website for the HSSCC is back up.
The HSSCP called out the Trump Administration’s meddling in the pandemic response in their final report (which named America’s Frontline Doctors) and three key reports that deserve a review in light of the witnesses the HSSCP GOP majority has brought before Congress.
“Preparing for and Preventing the Next Public Health Emergency: Lessons Learned From the Coronavirus Crisis” | December 2022
“A ‘Knife Fight’ with the FDA: The Trump White House’s Relentless Attacks on FDA’s Coronavirus Response" | August 2022
In addition to bringing forth members of the Norfolk Group - an offshoot of the Brownstone Institute which itself is an offshoot of the “dangerous and discredited herd immunity” strategy known as the Great Barrington Declaration - Drs. Jay Bhattacharya, Martin Kulldorff, Marty Makary, and Tracy Beth Høeg, the Subcommittee majority hosted journalist David Zweig this week.
Zweig is tied to the Great Barrington Declaration and, like GBD signer Bhattacharya, the Twitter Files.
While both men cry censorship for their movement, it has become increasingly clear that the GBD ethos was prioritized by right-wing government and media. Efforts to oppose them were censored. It is vital to review the work of the HSSCC and compare against the decidedly partisan work of the HSSCP if we are to actually learn those lessons from the Coronavirus Crisis.
